Leon Clark
Sutter Health
Leon Clark is the Vice President, Chief Research and Health Equity Officer and Designated Institutional Official at Sutter Health. In 2016, he was named by Modern Healthcare as one of the top minority executives to watch, and in 2020 he established the Sutter Health Institute for Advancing Health Equity (IAHE). As a senior level healthcare executive, Leon has extensive leadership experience in research and clinical practice operations, healthcare finance, and quality management.
Leon holds a B.S in Accounting and an MBA, both from DePaul University. He was also Certified as a Quality Fellow at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine where he served as the Enterprise Chair of Research Administration prior to his career with Sutter Health. Leon is passionate about Stanford Sierra Youth & Families’ mission because he has benefited greatly from having loving adults in his own life, and he feels a deep responsibility to serve others.
Leon previously served as a board member for Samuel Merritt University, Rochester Area Boys and Girls Club, and the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce. In his free time, Leon and his wife like to travel and experience different parts of the world.
