Shelley Laurel, Past Chair

Shelley Laurel is the SVP/Regional Manager of Umpaqua Bank. She heads up a team of 16 experienced business bankers including relationship managers and business development officers. Shelley has been in the business banking industry for more than 30 years, and her experience includes being an integral part of the start-up team of the Bank of Sacramento in 1998. She takes pride in being a Business Banker at a Community Bank where she is able to help small to medium sized businesses be successful. Shelley holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration Accounting.
Shelley is passionate about her board service at Stanford Sierra Youth & Families because her father was orphaned at the age of seven and grew up in a combination of an orphanage and foster home. She has also seen firsthand the challenges families face when struggling with issues such as mental illness and substance misuse.
A native of Sacramento, Shelley has been married to her husband for 40 years. Together, they have one son and three grandchildren and also love to adopt rescued Golden Retrievers. She and her husband love to spend as much time as possible on their favorite Hawaiian Island, Molokai. Shelley also belongs to a Hula Halau learning the hula and the Hawaiian culture.
