Gibrán Méndez
Interim Chief Program Officer
Gibrán joined Stanford Sierra Youth & Families in 2013 as a FIT Clinician, immediately following graduation from graduate school. He brings many strengths to the agency including being a Certified Agency Trainer in Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). Gibrán is also an Adjunct Professor at University of San Francisco’s Sacramento campus in their Counseling Marriage and Family Therapy program.
Gibrán is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Spanish from California State University, Chico. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Psychology: Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University, Chico.
Gibrán believes in the importance of increasing equity and access to community-based services and reducing disparities in social services offered to youth and families. He enjoys being able to develop staff in championing the agency’s values in every connection we make to best support the needs of our community. Outside of work, you can catch him in the kitchen whipping up a new recipe or baked good with a new cooking utensil he bought and is experimenting using. You can also catch him listening to music or catching a concert in his free time.
